Big News unveiled…

Okay, my wife warned me that I had built people up for a disappointment- so I’ll just give you the news and you can process accordingly!

No, I’m not changing jobs.  As far as I know, I still have one!  No, Annette isn’t pregnant (or at least if she is, I don’t know about it and it’s not mine!!)  No, we’re not getting divorced.  No, I didn’t win the lottery (sorry to disappoint you)
The big news is this: after more than 10 years in my current situation, I’ve decided to do something about it.  I’ve put on a ton of weight since high school.  That’s one of the reasons I didn’t go to my 10-year reunion a few years ago… I was ashamed.  SO…
Over the past 10 weeks, my workout partner Adam and I have buckled down.  Totally changed the way we eat.  Not diet, I’m talking total lifestyle change.  Eating right.  Working out.  A semi-secret mission to get healthy. The result?
I’VE LOST 30lbs!!!!!
Now, this might not have been the big news you were hoping for, but for me, my wife, and my kids, it’s big news.  I’m changing something.  I’ve been completely committed for 10 weeks to eating well and exercising.  And it’s payed off BIG!!  I’m setting an example for my kids, and hopefully my healthier body will allow me to be a part of their lives for many many years to come.  It’s gotten to the point where people are noticing, it’s getting hard to hide.  I just had to drop a pants size and a shirt size.  That’s liberating!
If you’ve struggled with your weight or have wanted to lose some but just haven’t done it, let me encourage you to do it.  There’s no magical pill.  There’s no wonder drug or treatment.  It’s the irreducible minimums of eating right and exercising.  
I’ll keep you updated with my progress.  My goal is to lose 25 more pounds in the next 10 weeks.  I can do it.
Next time I’ll share some specifics about what I’m doing.  Hang in there folks!
